Design Note #29
Building Access and Security is critical to our nation’s needs. OTEC’s building access technology integrates precision automatic door motion control electronics with sophisticated communications technology to enable low-cost networked building access control from a central security control center.
Sophisticated network communications provide the security link between building access requests and initiation of automatic door motion. Proprietary RS232, RS422, or RS485 communications permits a closed network of 128 individual access control points to be serviced from a single security control center. An open Ethernet or CAN bus network provides wide-area access control to as many as 2000 individual access control points.
OTEC employs Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques in a torque and speed controlled 1/3 horsepower H-bridge Power FET drive electronics package. This low cost power electronics set accomplishes precision automatic door motion control while preserving mechanical and electrical operational safety requirements. High reliability microcontroller electronics supervise forward, reverse, breaking, and mass-free operation.
The development of custom electronics technology solutions for our OEM clients is OTEC’s entire business. Development of Motion Control, Building Access, Security Products and Networking Access are among OTEC’s many specialties. Rapid design cycles, demanding technical requirements, and tight schedules sets us apart. Contact OTEC today, we’ll put a custom motion control security product design in your hand tomorrow too!
